As one of the longest-running ballet companies in Northern Virginia, the Fairfax Ballet considers itself very fortunate to contribute to the cultural enrichment of our community for more than four decades.

We are proud of the wonderful reputation we’ve built for the quality of our performances, as well as our performers — for instance, we have trained exceptional dancers who have gone on to study and perform at some of the finest companies, including the New York City Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, Basel Ballet and Monte Carlo Ballet — and we are pleased that you have been able to share in our success.

Along with our artistic success, of course, come the ever-increasing costs associated with helping to bring our business to life, and ever-decreasing public funding. Today, our performers’ recital fees cover less than half of the cost of our performances, and we are currently projecting additional costs for theater space and costume storage. When you factor in our goals to incorporate more performance opportunities for our dancers throughout the year, to further enhance collaboration with guest choreographers and artists, and to reinvigorate our outreach programs — our financial picture becomes even clearer, additional financial support is greatly needed.

In the past, we have received funding through grant programs from the Virginia Commission of the Arts, as well as the Arts Council of Fairfax County, to help support our productions. But we also depend on yearly Guild Memberships to keep our dance programs alive. So, in an effort to continue our operations with the excellence for which we are known, we are turning to you for your financial support. By making a contribution, you can help us keep the highest possible standards of artistic direction, keep our ticket prices affordable, and allow the Fairfax Ballet to continue to bring the beauty and joy of dance to our community.
